A company is based in Riyadh, has a current job vacancy for the following position: Job Title: Legal Affairs and Governance Officer.
Job Type: Full-time.
Reports to: Senior Management. Job Brief: Legal Affairs and Governance Officer provides professional legal support by assisting supervising with a wide range of tasks. Depending on the assigned dept, it may involve litigation, transactional/contractual or regulatory support. Legal Affairs and Governance Officer will draft legal and business communication, participate in the administration and negotiation of contracts, general file and database management, gather documents and respond to litigation requests, assist with regulatory filings, respond to customer legal inquiries by involving the proper legal department. Core Duties & Responsibilities: – Aid with case management in conjunction with in-house and outside counsel – including performing factual and legal research, managing discovery processes, engaging with outside counsel, and participating in mediations and other court proceedings; – Respond to subpoenas, government inquiries, and field requests – including collecting, reviewing and producing documents, negotiating scope, work with outside counsel when necessary; – Contribute to pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts; – Identifies key legal and business issues and reports up appropriately; and – Project Management on key litigation initiatives. – Identify, analyze, and research complex legal and business process issues. – Provide recommendations on the law under guidance of manager or attorney – Communicate with internal business partners. – Manage and prioritize simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. – Work closely with and under the supervision of a responsible attorney and exercises independent judgment in escalating issues within broadly defined practices and policies. Person Specification Essential Requirements: • + 5 years proven experience as working as a Legal Officer, or similar role. • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study. • English language proficiency. • Ability to work independently. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree and formal legal training, a bachelor’s degree in legal studies. Experience: – Experience performing substantive legal work in a law firm, in-house corporate legal department or government agency. – Experience working on cross-functional teams that successfully met business goals while maintaining strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies is a plus.
